2009, Bay Stallion, 1.45m
Sire: FS Champion de Luxe
Dam Sire: SPS Hilkens Shakyrah
Service Fee: $1100 including GST
Hilken’s Crown Prince was Licensed in Hannover in 2011 and was awarded a Premium Stallion.
The intention was to purchase a highly talented German Riding Pony stallion with the best breeding, powerful movement and serious trainability. We found a magnificent looking pony that looked as though he had all of these requirements – This was Hilken’s Crown Prince!!
He was for sale on Eurodressage.com and after extensive vet and semen checks we purchased him. He was only 2.5 years old at the time of purchase and we wanted him to be trained and to compete in Germany before we made the decision to import him to Australia.
He started his pre training with the extremely successful and knowledgable Timo Coldwey ( www.gestuet-kastanienhof.com) before moving to a competition stable with a highly qualified and well regarded pony dressage rider Klarissa Liss to begin competing him. Both Klarissa and Crown Prince had an outstanding performance record in Germany over the 4 months that they were together competing and winning at various young horse competitions including the Oldenburge State Championships where they placed 2nd with a score of 8.25. This meant that the pair qualified for Bundeschampionarte - the most prestigious event for young horses in the world.
Klarissa and Crown prince placed 7th with a score of 8.08 and therefore our decision was made to import Crown Prince to Australia. He arrived in Australia in early October 2012 with the aim to begin breeding this 2012/13 season and prepare him for Dressage with the Stars in the 4 year old class.
PEDIGREE
The sire of AEA Hilkens Crown prince is the world famous FS Champion de Luxe. He was the impressive winner of the 2000 riding pony koering in Aachen, the NRW meetings of 2001 and 2002, and of the Rheinisches championship. He has competed and won level A and L dressage classes, and was pony Bundeschampion of 2001 and 2002. He won his stallion performance test in Neustadt-Dosse with four perfect scores of ten! At the Berlin Bundessiegerhengst in 2003, he won the both dressage and versatility classes, prompting Hans Heinrich Stien to write in the press that Champion de Luxe is an “exceptional, superior animal.”
The dam of AEA Hilken’s Crown Prince SPS Shakyrah was champion of the 2005 Weser-Ems Elite Mare Show and reserve champion of the Federal Mare Show in Warendorf in 2005 (champion of the 3 year olds and reserve champion in the finals of all 3 and 4-year olds). Shakyrah is a 3/4-sister to Weser-Ems licensing champion 2005, Hilkens Black Delight. Her first two sons, Hilkens Dance Forever (by FS Don’t Worry) and Hilkens Charismatic (by Charmant) got licensed, Charismatic became premium stallion candidate in Hanover.

In February 2012, Alisha and Dirk moved to their beautiful property in Main Ridge to manage the Horseback Winery Tour business, where they’re building a world-class $5 million equestrian centre. As well as a reception and mounting area for Horseback Winery Tours, the new centre will have an indoor arena for training dressage horses, plus tie up stalls for our winery tour horses.
Currently, there are 34 horses available for winery tours. All are very well schooled, and have been individually chosen to suit all riding levels from absolute beginner to experienced riders.

AEA Metallic competed in the small tour at the CDI at Boneo Park. He came 2nd in the PSG and 3rd in the Inter 1. Again AEA Metallic was the highest placed small tour stallion.
Three judges had Dirk and Metallic either wining or second in the Inter 1 and the German judge placed Metallic in 8th position. Do you think this has something to do with the fact he is a Dutch horse?

AEA Tuschinski and Alisha will be out competing soon. The pair have been together for only a few months but so far so good. Alisha is enjoying riding him and Dirk is enjoying training both of them. Hopefully a good start to a successful competition partnership.

AEA Dressage headed to the beautiful Gold Coast for Auction of the stars on the weekend. The location was superb; set amongst the hills of Guanaba (inland to the Gold Coast) at Jane Bloomfield’s property. It was a fabulous weekend for all involved and as always the Ryans and Byalee teams did a marvelous job of organising the event. The sun was shining and the horses were selling. AEA Dressage sold AEA Mirabelle to a lovely lady from Queensland and AEA Milton was sold to Grand Prix dressage rider Sue Hearn.
Dirk did his usual Magic in the masterclass on AEA Metallic and Alisha rode AEA Tuschinski and Dirk discussed the ‘Anky’ training system and how it works for our beautiful stallions.
A fun weekend, thanks everyone.
